What is Truth?

Marvelously Miraculous Minister Monday

This week I have a lot on my plate. I want to finish my Renew Your Mind Calendar so that I can finally share it with those who have asked about it. I am going to get started on my fourth book, “In the Midst of Spiritual Warfare” and for my end of year ministry gift, I am going to combine my first 3 books into one book and republish them at a lower cost than I was able to do as single books. It is my hope that in the consolidation of the three, the message that God shares throughout my story will be even more affordable and accessible for all who need to hear the message that “They are worthy too”!

It is hard for me to believe that it has been two years since I began writing again. First an entire year of blogging and then last year, I published my first three books under the ministry that God put on my heart. As a child, I asked God to help me be a message of hope. I requested that He allow me to help His people through writing. I asked Him to make me into a great writer. I always thought it would be via the money I would make while writing that I would gain the tools necessary to be of such help to countless. Today that is not my belief. I see what God is doing through me. He is using me and my story, a modern day tale of sorts, to reveal His grace and glory.

While it is true that I would love to still have an endless supply of money to do other things to help countless people, they no longer involve the material things I thought would help others find happiness. I know today that material possessions and buildings made by man may provide some level of comfort, but what the world needs today is the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

Pontius Pilot once asked, “What is truth?”

We all have heard the saying, “The truth shall set you free.”

In essence you couldn’t share the end result of what happens when you discover who you are in Christ simpler than that. It is so simple the majority of us can’t even see it; the truth really does set you free. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. If you have ever for one moment fallen apart and cried out in desperation for better days, I urge you to discover the truth for yourself! For when you discover the truth, you will also find a sense of peace and dare I say even joy in the midst of the trials and tribulations of life. One thing is for certain, we will all have rotten days. That is the one guarantee I can make you. We live in a fallen world. Bad things are going to happen! If someone promised a secret way that you could hold onto your peace of mind and heart and even feel joyous in the midst of the most turbulent of storms, how many copies do you think they would sell?

We live in a world seeking answers; in a population of people searching for the good life. That is why I am going to put together my personal story, at least the part currently available in both print and electronic formats into one consolidated book. I don’t know what I am going to subtitle it as of today, but I plan on having it available before weeks end. It is still my prayer that God enlarge my territory, broaden my use and explode the sales of my books so that I can do what I want to do for countless others. One day I will see my dreams as a reality and until that day, I will continue to pray for my desires to be fulfilled. I seek the kingdom of God and I seek to save as many of my brothers and sisters from the pit of hell as I can along my way!

Please, please, please, be on the lookout for my consolidated book release! It is my belief that God will use my true life story to speak to countless people in desperate need for answers. Please stop by and Like my ministry page on Facebook and you will be notified when the three part series is published into one book! You Can Lead a Horse to Water

You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink! This well known fact is what got my mind whirling first thing this morning.  I was reflecting on my conversation with someone. He’s in a life battle. I see it clearly but by his refusal to believe that God is cheering him on, he has chosen his personal figure to currently be a pawn. Weirdly enough he is being used against himself. It pains me to witness this for I fully understand his pain. I guess that is the blessing in living through all I have. I can sympathize and empathize, but how do I take that emotion and get others to see the bigger picture without offending them?

There is an incredible life outside of any pain, worry, anguish, apathy or whatever negative emotion you yourself might be swimming in. I used to think that a selfish God would demand you put Him above all other things but I understand that in doing so, pain looses its grip. While you are still more than capable of feeling pain, you are suddenly able to step outside of it. This gives even greater understanding to the passage “Let the dead bury the dead”:

One day Jesus invited a man to follow Him and become His disciple—but the man refused. He said he would follow Jesus later, but first he wanted to go bury his father. Jesus responded, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead” (Matthew 8:22).

When you are caught up in the world and the undertow of emotions it places on you, you are in essence part of the living dead. While you are alive and perhaps surviving, you are not thriving. You are a slave to the world.
Many times an abused woman will stay in an abusive situation simply because while abusive and dangerous, it is familiar so she sees it as ironically safe in a way. She can’t get outside of her prison because she fears the unknown. God reaches out His hand and says ‘Trust me’ and when you do, when you step out in faith, your whole world will change.

This does not mean that you won’t face awful, tragic, heart breaking, insulting, and at times, overwhelming pain. Sometimes so great one would think it would take you out. But in putting God above all things, nothing here in this world has the power to take you out! God promises to turn all bad to good and I’m telling you I have lived through some serious bad. I think that is why God called me forth to reveal all the mess in my life. All the rotten things I have done. All the nightmares I have lived through. I was afraid of sharing my skeletons. I mean who in their right mind pulls back the curtain and says, “Hey look at this?”

It’s even crazier that I feel it necessary to call out every day inviting people to read what I have written. I am compelled to do so for I know who I was. Thanks to the wicked games the evil one plays and the allotment of tools and pawns he has at hand to use in this warfare we are all a part of, I was a lost child of God so full of confusion I couldn’t see myself as God sees me. We often give credit where credit is not due. We only need to look in the oldest history book on earth to see the evil one in action right at the start of things. Did he stop once he got Adam and Eve kicked out of the Garden? No, he went after their children and he hasn’t stopped since.

Many people misunderstand how the evil one sets things in motion. I think we are prepared for some big scene like in the movies where the devil is an obvious character, easily recognized. Oh! If it were only that simple! I was shocked the first time I realized I had a negative sound loop playing in the back of my mind. We all talk to ourselves negatively. This is a habit we must immediately begin to break. However, what the evil one softly whispers to us about ourselves is directly meant to keep us from our purpose!

It is important to discover and understand how the evil one works. When playing sports, don’t we study our competition? When coming against an opponent one on one, don’t you study their strong points in an attempt to discover their weakness? Satan has only one weakness and that is Christ. Christ was the victor when the two of them battled. Christ is the one you need to know in order to win the daily battle. EVERY day is a battle. Every day, no ifs ands or butts about it, EVERY DAY is going to be a battle. Here is a little poem I wrote the other day. In reading it perhaps your eyes will be opened slightly to the ways of Satan and just how shrewd he is as well as how you can defend yourself against him!

A seed planted often grows.
This truth the evil one knows.
A fiery arrow without the shield of faith will take hold.
“Don’t worry about tomorrow” in God’s word we are told.
We must put on our armor daily for the fight is real.
Don’t forget for one moment the thief came to steal.
He’s out to rob you of your joy and peace
For the evil one the fight does not cease
He’s been hard at work, his harvest is large
I’m waging in the war, I’m leading a charge
I’m part of the eternal brother and sisterhood
Reminding those listening of something good
A promise of freedom, and unending love
Support like none other from our Father above
Don’t be fooled, our Father is just
In this truth, you must trust
No matter what this world brings,
Turn to Him for all things.

You may think to yourself, “This girl is crazy. God doesn’t care about me. Look at all He’s allowed me to suffer through.”

I say, “God called me forth to share my story; the ugly and the good alike. In reading you will fully see that I am indeed someone who has walked in your shoes. While it is true today I am full of joy, I have faced my own share of problems as well as adversaries. In reading my story you will see that I went against God’s wishes for me, even believing I could outsmart Him. I have blamed God for things, yelled at God for things and was even convinced He was out to get me a time or two. I have not had it easy to say the least!

All I want out of each day is to find one person who is calling out asking, “How can I have a better life?” If that’s you, it’s my belief that my story will help you. Regardless, I promise it is not a boring read. If you thought Shades of Gray was something, you owe it to yourself to read my 3 part true life series. The feed back from those that have read my books in order has been a blessing all in itself. My 3 book collection only costs $13.00 in electronic format and in print the set is only $25.00 I created a short audio clip of me reading the first portion of “In the Beginning” Click this link to listen now!

Father today I pray you enlighten me on how to successfully share my story with others. Let them see that I am just a girl who today shines like diamonds glittering in the sunlight due to your love and the relationship we have. Please help me be as shrewd as the snake and as gentle as the dove. Please help me share the message of grace and unending love. Let me be a light so bright there is not doubt just exactly what my purpose is all about. I was born to give you glory simply by sharing the truth about my story. Help me father cause a turn in this fight. In the city of darkness let me be the light! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

I close this post with the verse that got it all started:

For we live by believing and not by seeing ~ 2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT

It was in reading that that my mind was set on fire in regards to just how I could be used as a tool for those to find their faith. Sometimes I feel like I was allowed a cheat. I have witnessed unbelievable things. This allows me to understand that the unbelievable things we read in the Bible are actually believable. Today I ask you to read my story. You may find it unbelievable at times but I promise my chapters contain true life events. I also promise you that when you begin to truly seek the Lord, as he promises, He will answer. Just read my story. Everyone starts somewhere; my story is a great place for all who are curious about whether or not God is active today! What are you waiting for? I do have great news, today, you can get all 3 books in print for only$9.99. Not long after I published this, God showed me how to republish my 3 books into one big book! How Good is Good?

Today is Marvelously Magnificent Miraculous Monday. Have you considered the miracles that have taken place in your life? Many of us don't give credit where credit is due. We decide to instead believe in a thing called Karma. Bad things happen to good people so how does that work in the Karma formula? Do you believe that if you are good enough, good things will happen to you? If so, I ask you, "How good is good?"

Jesus once asked a man why he called him good; allow me to share that conversation with you:

From the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 10, verses 17 -

As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good - except God alone. You know the commandments: 'You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother."

"Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy."

Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.

We all have heard the saying 'love of money is the root to all evil'. Some shorten it to just say money is the root of all evil but it is truly the love of it. Our God does not like us to worship false idols. Money is a false idol and it rules many lives. It is even said that God is a jealous God, but we think in human terms when we hear that word. When God is jealous it is out of a form of protective love. When we love or think of things, money included, and put more importance on that thing than on God we lose out big time. Not so much because He stops communicating with us. He is always chasing us. It is because we have stopped seeking, listening, asking. When this takes place, we also begin to lean more toward sin than righteousness because we are no longer walking in step with the Holy Spirit.

The truth of the matter is, you can't be good enough on your own. We are all sinners. I sinned just this morning by allowing impatience and irritation to take the wheel for a moment and I was not exactly kind to my husband. I should have immediately stopped realizing where I was headed but I did not. My morning started before I had a chance to read even a snippet of God's word and I read it daily! But today was a new day and mine began before I had even dressed for battle. This is how quickly we are capable of sliding out of our righteousness into our flesh. This is why we need Jesus and this is why we need to wear our daily armor. The plain truth of the matter is we are never going to be good enough without Christ at the wheel.

The devil hates Christ and he hates freedom. He wants to bind you up in sin and tie you down with laws. He wants to convince you that there is a chance you can be good enough but lets face the truth, for that is what Jesus teaches. In Galatians 5:1, we read this:

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law.

What does that verse mean you may be asking yourself. It means this; when you judge your brother by the law, you are also placing yourself under the law. We are not here to judge one another but to love one another. Not one of us is perfect and without sin in our lives. Don't be picking the speck of dirt out of anyone else's eye when most of us wake up with a few specks of our own each morning. Jesus covers all of this in the Bible as well. Just flip to the Book of Matthew, Chapter 7, verses 1-5:

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

Do you see how clearly it is stated that if you decide to govern others by the law, you are also yourself under the law and the law will bind you quickly when you are also seeking to please God with your life actions. Again, we will stumble, we will fail, we will have wicked thoughts, the evil one will use all this non good to cancel out your own good even in your own eyes and you will begin to have thoughts of doubt as to your goodness and the wheel of self doubt will begin. You of course will need to go out and do good to make up for your bad and soon you will discover yourself running in a senseless circle. Just realize today that no matter how 'good' you are, you are not good enough to enter into the kingdom of heaven on your own. Christ is the key to true salvation and an abundant life on earth.

I know this because in 2009, I began banging on God's door and as he is faithful, he opened the door and showed me many truths over the last 5 years. Now I am in college going for my degree in Biblical Studies. I am almost at the end of my first class which was 'An Introduction to the Bible'. When you ask God for knowledge, you just never know how he is going to give it to you!

God also has been giving me the desires of my heart as is also promised within the pages of the Bible. I did not seek him to have him grant the desires of my heart, I sought him because I was at the end of myself. Everything did not happen overnight. God certainly has things timed out and for a purpose that we may not always understand. I love what he has done through me. I love what he is doing through me. To date, I have written three books and I am working on my fourth one now. While all three can be read separate of one another, they are truly a wonderful collection that has a much deeper and fuller meaning when read together.

Today, I encourage you to help yourself by helping my ministry. Whether you prefer print books or e-books, all three of my published books are available on Amazon. In print, they will cost you $25.00 in electronic format, they only cost $13.00. My ministry receives the same margin of profit either way. In return, You will receive a priceless gift as you enjoy a true life story of a girl, her dreams, her failures and her finding her way back home. What are you waiting for? Buy your copies today!

Less is Often More!

Today is Thursday, May 15th! On my calendar it is clearly marked as Tremendously Thankful, Thoroughly Thoughtful Thursday. Today I am thankful for having less.

Last weekend was Mother's Day. The best part of that day is getting the cards the children made me while at school. My second graders filled in balloon prompts on a card. My favorite line on Michael's card was the one that said, "My mom likes smaller houses."

I literally laughed out loud when I saw it. He must have overheard a conversation I had had with his father while driving in the car. I was chatting away explaining to him how much time I saved by us living in a smaller house. I said I loved living in a small house because it didn't take me anytime at all to clean the place and have the rest of my day.

On Marissa's card she had said she enjoyed watching me read the Bible everyday. That made me smile but for a completely different reason. Recently since we downsized from a three bedroom apartment back into the house that God gave me, we donated the majority of our books to a laundry mat as well as a Goodwill. Each one of them is responsible to read for ten minutes each night. I decided rather than check out books at a library, that it would do the children good to read out of the bible. I have selected certain Chapters and verses that I pray cause them to become curious for more of what God has to say about things.

Recently we have read out of Ephesians, Timothy and Philippians just to name a few. I think one of my favorite readings was from Philippians, chapter 4. The children discovered that the phrase 'whatever' was used in the bible. I shared with them that the phrase 'As if' can also be found in the bible. I used that to explain how many think the bible is old school and there is nothing in it that applies to our age. Sadly that is a lie spread by Satan through those who either don't take the time to read God's word for themselves or those that are simply too self involved to recognize the truth within the pages.

I sit back today reflecting all that has taken place in the last 6 months or so. I moved out of my small home as winter closed in and moved into a gigantic apartment that was always cold and much too spacious in all honesty. I used to joke that I had to walk to another state to hang the girls clean clothes up in their closets. It literally took me the entire weekend to organize and clean our home each weekend. In those few short months, I somehow managed to publish three books in both print and e-book formats. The apartment is something I should have never been approved to move into. As it turns out, when it comes to apartments, the federal rule states that you can only have two heartbeats per room. For those of you that have followed my blog, you know that when I first went to apply for this apartment, I had recently left Mike or rather he had actually left me and moved to Florida. You also know at the time, I had six children with me; four of them were girls and two of them were boys. Any way you slice that pie, not only did I have more than two heartbeats per room, I also had more than six on my original application. I knew God had moved me to go to that apartment and I also felt He was in the process of moving me again before things went into motion. By the end of February, the maintenance crew had done an inspection of my home and had discovered that we had one heartbeat too many living in the apartment and they gave me a 60 day notice to vacate. I was not formally evicted through the court system, I was simply sent a letter stating I had to be out by April 29th.

I guess some people in my shoes would have been caught up in a whirlwind of emotion. I on the other hand have gotten much better at praying for direction and then waiting for an answer. I always believed that God gave me my home on wheels for a reason so that is where we went back to. Winter is over, although tonight it will dip down to a chilly 37 degrees, so the mobile home truly is a great place to go back to. Now, while I do not have Internet or even 24/7 electricity, I have all I need. A bed for each child, a warm shower, lights that run off of our battery power and a very small house to clean! While I lost space, I gained massive amounts of time, including quality time with the children. We hang out at the library or the park more now because our day is not gobbled up by constantly cleaning floors! Less truly can be more. It all depends on how you look at it.

Today, seeing how it is Thankful Thursday, I am going to leave you with the advice found in Philippians 4, beginning with verse 4:

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

What you focus on with your mind will alter how you go about your day. This is certainly why we are advised to renew our minds. Make sure you renew yours daily with a bit of God's word which has much encouragement to stay focused on the truth. That being said, Mercy Me just came out with a new album which is titled, "Welcome to the New". It is full of wonderful songs but I really really love the words sung on the song also called 'Welcome to the New' for those that can listen online via my link, enjoy. For those that cannot view it on your electronic device, take the time to search them out on You Tube when you have the opportunity!

I would also like to invite you to read my full story ~ well the parts that I have published anyway. I have many more books to follow. I think I could write everyday for the rest of my life and still have stuff to share. For now, you can find all of my books in both print and e-reader formats at www.amazon.com/author/wendyglidden for less than $13 you can own all three on your e-reader and if you prefer print over electronic, you can own all three for less than $25. With each purchase you are supporting my ministry. I truly appreciate each purchase!

Be blessed and be a blessing <3,

Where Christ is, There I Shall Be Also!

May he grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed. ~ Psalm 20:4, NLT

I love the Psalms. They make my heart soar. The closer you draw to God, the more you build a friendly relationship with Him, the clearer your eyes become.

Have you ever heard that the bible is a living document? I have. Readers know how a book can come to life in their hands. How while reading it they are in a way transported to that place and time. I love that about a good book.

The bible is a collection of books. Today when I pick it up and have time to read and dive in, these books truly do come to life for me. I can hear Paul and David and King Solomon and often I find my self caught up in their moments. I love reading and the bible is hands down the coolest book I have ever held in my hands.
The other day I read this encouraging word:

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.
~ Isaiah 53:6, NLT

I was certainly a sheep that had strayed. An angry self centered sheep at that! Resolved to live my life on my own terms and in my own way. How foolish we become when we cut ourselves off from the Lord. We are so blind we cannot see the error in our ways.

This past month I have been watching faith based movies from the library. They are great family movies and they inspire me. We all need a little veg time when we are overworked. I am to the point that I need it to be positive quality veg time. It was in trying to find decent comidies I could watch with my family that I discovered the faith based category in the local library. What is being labled as comedy these days is not really that funny. Honestly the majority of the films seem to be more sad than funny and often more than not they are not family appropriate.

One of the movies I checked out last week was called:  'Luther' Here is the link should you like to view it for yourself.
a link to the movie itself Rather than purchase it, I would see if your local library has a copy for free! It's not really a family movie so don't pop this one in while the children are still up!

While researching Luther further, I discovered that he is not exactly the most liked person in history! While I am sure this scene is not a direct quote made by the original Luther, it is too good not to share! Allow me to paint the scene: Luther is explaining to the congregation what his view of God was like before he had learned about Jesus Christ. As he strolled away from the pulpit and stood next to the first pew, this is what he said in the movie itself:

"Those who see God as angry, do not see Him rightly, but look upon a curtain as if a dark storm cloud has been drawn across his face. If we truly believe Christ is our Savior, than we have a God of Love. To see God in faith is to look upon His friendly heart.
So, when the devil throws your sins in your face and declares that you deserve death in hell, tell him this: I admit that I deserve death in hell, what of it! For I know one who suffered and made satisfaction in my behalf. His name is Jesus Christ, Son of God, where He is there I shall be also!"

I found myself truly enjoying the entire movie. I think those who despise religion itself would truly enjoy this movie because of the true story behind it. Martin Luther was most indeed a mover and shaker in his day!

The other movie I watched was family appropriate. It is called The Genesis Code. I found a trailor clip off of youtube. If your browser won't let you view it from within my blog, just go to youtube itself and type it in.
The gist of this movie revolves around the opening book of the bible and explains how science and the first six days as described by God are not in conflict.

I hope you find the time to squeeze these two movies into your viewing sequence! I think as far as movie's go they are both worth watching.

Today is Weds, February 5th, 2014! I have three chapters left to complete for my next book entitled: You Are Worthy Too: Marriage, Motherhood and My Moral Meltdown! I plan on having it available to purchase on February 14, 2014. Deadlines. How quickly they approach!

This morning Smashwords greeted me with a green light letting me know I had passed all requirements and my first book; You Are Worthy Too: In the Beginning is now featured in the premium catalog. I have discovered that I will not be listed on Amazon until I reach the first $2000. in sales!

However, in celebration of my making it to this point in my journey, I issued a coupon code: LR67N for my first book! It is only good through March 6th, 2014 so be sure to apply it at check out when you purchase it!
This is what one reader had to say about it:

Wendy,

I just finished your  “ You are Worthy Too: In the Beginning " Incredible!  YOU ARE WORTHY!

You write very well, and your third party writing is also great.

Your faith is unmeasurable…  and with faith comes confidence and with confidence and faith the devil has no chance in HELL!

Chris was quite the character… I don’t think I like her at all….. devil inside her….

This book has got to make you feel so much better about yourself.
Now go write one a NEW book with your confidence you have about the future…. As GOD has this also planned out for you.   YOU ROCK!!!

Kathy

I was also told by a reader that when I had invited her to be in my sample audience, she was in the midst of trying to decide whether she wanted to check in more than she wanted to check out. She said the only thing holding her was wondering who would take care of her children. She said after reading my book that has all changed. She said she is not normally a reader but she loved how the book moved along. She said it really got her thinking. She told me that my book needed to be read by others like her. Needless to say her words moved me to tears.

My book can be purchased as a gift, so if you know someone that might need a ray of hope, please share it. I would have never guessed this girl was feeling that down and out. It truly gave me pause.

I leave you today with another encouraging word:

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

~ Isaiah 41:10, NLT

He is Faithful. You can count on that promise!

Father, I come to you today simply amazed at how you are taking my story and touching the lives of others. I am thrilled to be your humble servant. I love being a part of what you are doing. Use me father in greater ways. I want to be a ray of hope. I want others to find encouragement in their daily lives. You created us to live abundantly, I pray others are broken from the chains of bondage. May they understand they have a savior in Christ. May they stand up to the evil one when he tries to enslave them! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
