A Zillion Thoughts

Running on empty . . . I need a hero . . . What a year . . . So thankful . . . Please God . . . Thank you Jesus!



Those are just a few of the blog topics that have run through my mind in just the last couple of days. It is hard for me to believe how in active I have been in serving God by encouraging others through my blog.

In all honesty I basically took an entire year off. Sure I wrote here and there, but who can claim to be a blogger when they only published a handful of blogs in 12 full months?

My first year, I wrote like crazy, marketed my stuff in a lot of rooms and ended up meeting several really cool people, most of whom I still converse with on a regular basis.

This years focus seems to have fallen more to the category of prayer than to writing / blogging. I even began a book about praying. Time seems to be what I lack most of lately and that is something I recently began praying about. . . I actually wrote a prayer out on the family dry erase calendar and part of it is about petitioning the LORD God for more time.

Now some may think it strange to request such things, but I have witnessed this simple request manifest more than once in ways that force me to recognize the hand of God moving in my life. It is things like that; time seemingly slowing down in order for me to accomplish all I need to, that have caused my faith to grow.

It pains me these days to witness friends not depending upon God. I invite them to church, but the feedback is often negative. They either make claims that the church will burn down if they were to enter or they mention things like, the church is full of fakes and hypocrites. I cringe when others say things like, "The Bible is outdated or the Bible contradicts itself". . . all of these excuses and claims  are wrong assumptions!

Regardless of which comment I get, I have a steady reply:

1. Jesus didn't come for those who believed they had it all together ~ He came for those of us who know we don't.

2. Demons are recorded being present within the synagogues right in Scripture ~ if the church didn't burn down when they entered, what makes you believe you are going to cause such an event?

3. Fakes can be found outside of the church as well as within . . . it is about more than other people, it is about learning the secret to discovering true freedom and joy. Also you are honestly more likely to find true believers and in turn disciples of Christ in a church setting than in the world as a whole.

4. The Bible does not contradict itself. I've studied it in depth and have even earned a college degree in Biblical Studies. What makes it a bit confusing is the order in which it is usually printed.

One of the coolest things I was able to do in college was to read passages in the order they were written. Should you TRULY long to grasp the history and truth of Scripture, than you owe it to yourself to purchase the first Chronological Study Bible.

Personally, I love the opportunity to worship with my friends and family via songs and prayer. I enjoy the fellowship that comes with finding a "home church". Today my prayer for you is that you find yourself much like a moth to a flame, may your heart begin to seek, may your mind begin to ponder, may you check things out on your own. Anxiety . . . Is it Ruling Your Life?

Anxiety, worry, fretting; it really is all pointless. Name one instance in your life that spending time caught up in dread of what may come paid off.

Even if your greatest fear does come to pass, reflect upon how much time you wasted contemplating how things would or could play out. This is truly how most of society is being held from living an abundant life.

If you are thinking, "Great. How do I  make my brain stop playing out various scenerios of my future?"

For me, that answer is simple, but that was not always the case. I spent decades almost 3 as a matter of fact being a little bit of a control freak. Today though, I have for the most part learned to roll with the punches. For me that is a good thing because the punches come often!

What is the secret to my success? First and foremost, words of wisdom passed onto me by my heavenly Father, combined with understanding what or rather who fills me with trepidation.

First I remind myself of this truth:

"So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34, NASB)

Next, I go to God about it all . . . often I go to Him with something like this:

Father, I want to thank you for all you have done for me, all the ways you have shown me favor, moved mountains, introduced me to people and most of all for teaching me how to live abundantly come what may. Honestly, my life rocks. You always have my back which is why it's crazy that I can't keep myself from going round and round in my mind. Please help me raise my shield of faith, fill me with confidence, remind me of all you have done in the past so that the fiery arrows being launched in my direction fall uselessly to the ground. Help guard my mind from negative thoughts, help guard my heart from fear. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

You see, the reason most of humanity struggles with worry is because they don't realize they are in the midst of a spiritual battle. They also don't realize they have a mighty foe. He is shrewd, clever, conniving, and often uses partial truths to speak lies into our lives. These days he's winning the war. People are taking their own lives every day. We must wake up and begin to fight back. Earthly weapons of war are useless. All we need to be successful can be found in the Book of Ephesians, Chapter 6, specifically verses 10-20 . . . 

I've done an in depth study of this full suit of armor and if you have read my trilogy, You are Worthy Too: the Proof is in the Pudding,  you know that Satan had me in a full head on crocodile roll in the midst of writing part II of that book. 

Even if you are someone who doubts in the existence of Satan, you are not exempted from this spiritual war. You are either a pawn or a mighty warrior because while you are busy denying the existence of him, he is busy doing what he does best, using the unaware as pawns. He is the prowling lion, always looking for someone to devour. 



If you deal with any form of anxiety, my main question to you is this . . . what do you have to lose by learning about this form of spiritual armor? 

We all know the definition of insanity is repeating the same behavior while expecting a different result. Isn't your peace of mind worth the gamble of seeking out the truths that are in all resources? 

For those of you on the sidelines in this argument, I encourage you to begin your research by reading my true life trilogy: You are Worthy Too: the Proof is in the Pudding. . . Throughout it, I remove the veil and you can clearly see how I was manipulated by the hater of humanity. Think of this book as a guide that helps open your eyes to ways in which you can win in this life. Until we cross paths again my friend, be blessed in all you do.

Father, thank you for my life, for my blessings and for so much more than I could ever imagine my life to be. Thank you for your promise of an abundant life free of anxiety. How incredible it is to rest in the midst of all life's storms. Today I simply ask that many of my brothers and sisters pick up a copy of the book you called me forth to write. May their eyes and hearts be opened to countless truths. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Running the Good Race as Instructed!

One of my all time favorite songs ever is sung by Mercy Me and it is called "Even If". I love it because it reminds me of how I need to trust God through ALL trials and EVEN IF mountains aren't moved, I MUST KNOW beyond a shadow of doubt that God has me and He will use this for good into my life. It is a PROMISE of HIS!

I also know that it is only in singing His praises while in literal hell that my eyes begin to focus on what is good in the midst of all the bad. Often, I forget to ask for prayers, when things get bad, I don't. I know the power of prayers, so to have others praying for me and over me is ALL GOOD!

This morning I had a friend call me out requesting my praise report this morning. She was forcing me to reflect on all that had transpired and get in the right frame of mind as we are instructed:

It is amazing what happens when we do this, when you renew your mind with thoughts such as these it has a physical effect upon you. It is a renewing on your mind. You clean house in your head. Satan no longer has a hold on you through oppression, the battle is over even though in most ways it is not, God has already delivered you through because you have come to the realization that nothing on this earth can truly destroy you. What you have lost, God can and will replace if you just remain open to that truth you will see its fruition. 
So it is with my prompting that I had this to post as my updated status on facebook this morning:
Diane Duncan Kilmon reminded me that through all things I am to praise Him. Due to my most recent trial, I got to spend yesterday with my mom who did her best to fix my car on her birthday. I spent some time in the morning with my awesome friend, Ana who drove me back to the scene and then to the police station and post office. In the late afternoon, I broke down and called my earthly father who agreed to let me take my car to his mechanic and make payments. I took the opportunity to walk and talk with God and literally walked back home about 2 miles, crying a lot of the way admittedly. Just as I arrived back to the complex another awesome friend was pulling out. She took me for a cool drink at the gas station and then down the road to pick up some items from the kids school where I ran into the lady who helped me get into my current place almost two years ago when I was homeless. I have had many friends write to me with words of truth and encouragement, others who have called, texted and given their support in various ways. Thank you God for all my help lines on earth. Many have no one here in the flesh to turn to. One of the wisest men to live, wrote that two are better than one: It's a truth in God's word. Now I'm inspired to blog which those who know me know that writing is my passion and dream and purpose. Tell me Good isn't good and I'll call you a liar. .. there's a verse for that truth too! Keep an eye out for my next blog!
The verse for two being better than one is as follows:

Some may say how can two form a strand of three? He is talking about Jesus being in the middle. In context, when this was written, prayer was a much larger part of daily life. When we pray we invite God into our hearts for council and because He is all good, our focus when remembering that He is all good and trusting in him turns to good. today, I once again encourage you to take my 30 day challenge to renew your mind: It is as follows:
1. Rename the days of the week to something positive: Here are my names for each day:
I took that picture during our family travels . . . Isn't it funny that almost all of my landscape pictures were lost when I lost my phone and had to have it remotely cleaned, yet this one reveals a heart and it somehow is in my google photos. The biggest truth I KNOW to my VERY CORE is that God LOVES me ~ folks, come what may, that truth brings joy to my heart . . . I mean, how crazy is that: God LOVES me! Little old me! He loves you too, and longs for a relationship with you. I promise you this, having Him for a friend and trusting 100% that He has your back is a total game changer in this life! 
2. Tune into K-love, plug Christian Music in the search engine if watching You Tube, find Moody radio and find a couple of speakers that breath hope and life into whatever you are going through.

3. Find a source that will send you and encouraging word to your inbox each morning ~ K-love is who I use.

4. Bless me and buy my book. It's only $9.99 in print. God had me write it so I know it is full of blessings for all who purchase it ~ shoot just in buying my book you bless me and He says, "I will bless those who bless you" (Genesis 12:3) . . . Can you imagine a world where the majority of us begin being blessings to others!

Father, thank you for opening my eyes to how awesome you have made my life. Yes, currently from a worldly outlook, I am being served some due Karma or something to that gist. Thank you for assuring me that bad things happen regardless in life yet in the mix you will bring about good for me because I love you. I am so grateful for the angels you have allowed me to hear sing, what beautiful music ~ how I can't wait to be part of your heavenly choir!!! Thank you for all the people you have sent to minister to me. You rock. I love you. Please watch over my children at camp and those who are with me. Watch over all my friends and family and those I know and don't know, even those who have aligned themselves against me. Bless them all Father. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

Are You Living an Abundant Life?

Good morning my friends and fellow sisters and brothers in Christ! I stand before you on this Marvelously magnificent miraculous Monday proclaiming that my life is abundant. That is not to say that I am wealthy in financial ways, but more to say that my cup overflows in all ways needed.

When people initially meet me, the first thing that surprises them is the amount of children I have. Next they often ask how on earth I am able to do so much with such a load on my plate. I confess, "I am able to do all I do because of the grace of God. Those who know him, will often give me a smile and agree that having a relationship with the LORD is ineed a game changer. However, what catches me by surprise is how many who know Him are still filled with anxiety and worry. Those two things strip one of an abundant life.

It may sound so basic, but it is a Scriptural promise; an explanation of one major reason Jesus came into the world and it has to do with the here and now. When you turn to John 10:10, we discover this news:

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (NASB)


Now some think abundance means that they will somehow be blessed with a ton of money. Abundance does not speak solely to financial wealth, it speaks to joy, and peace, and rest. When you live life trusting God, you will indeed be living abundantly!

Many struggle with the trust factor where God is concerned. I know this for I had the same hang-up for the majority of my life. What I can tell you is this: 

  1. We are all born with a measure of faith. (Romans 12:3)
  2. Faith increases with the reading of His word and in getting to know Him. (Romans 10:14-17)
  3. The more time you spend seeking, the greater your faith will grow for your eyes will be opened up to the hand of God in motion.
My first go to verse when I began seeking came from one of the books of wisdom in the Bible:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5, NASB).


To this day, there are things that I don't understand when it comes to the ways of God, but I have come to learn to trust His wisdom over mine for I have also been shown over the course of time just how His way of doing things did indeed make way more sense than anything I could have come up with. 

When you come to trust God to this point, there is nothing that can cause you worry. Not even being homeless with 6 children under your care. I know that this is the case, because I have lived under these circumstances. 

In reflection, even when I did not have faith in God, He was faithful to me. You can see this truth play out in reading my life story. If you aren't living an abundant life today. If you are experiencing worry, anxiety, depression, self-loathing, lack of hope, I pray you find a path to God. I invite you to read my own journey. I have after all, worn a ton of various shoes, and my story is full of crazy, get out of here moments. 

So I leave you today with this question? Are you ready to begin living abundantly? If the answer is yes, than begin making advancements toward that goal today. I challenge you to a 30 day commitment.

When you make the commitment to change these few things, I promise you will begin to experience more moments of hope, peace and joy. Life is brutal, why wouldn't you armor yourself with anything and everything that offers a positive improvement.

Father, today I pray that you lift up those who are hurting. May they find a path to you. I would be blessed to be a part of that path and you know my desire is to help free those who are currently enslaved, however I will be thrilled to simply pray for those and know that you are working in their lives. This is not about me, it is about You and how You deliver freedom to those who seek you with pure hearts. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
